RF Receiver Signal Chain
Antenna → LNA → mixer → IF filter → ADC → DSP, with annotated gains and frequencies.
Prompt
An RF receiver signal chain drawn left-to-right with 7 blocks connected by labeled arrows. Block sequence: 1. Antenna (icon) — RF input 2. Band-pass Filter — center frequency f_c, bandwidth B 3. Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) — gain G1 = 20 dB, NF = 1.5 dB 4. Mixer — local oscillator at f_LO, output at IF = f_c - f_LO 5. IF Filter — band-pass at IF, bandwidth B 6. ADC — sampling rate f_s, resolution N bits 7. DSP — digital baseband processing producing demodulated symbols Above each block, a small frequency-domain spectrum thumbnail showing the signal's spectral support at that point. Below each block, a one-line annotation listing key parameters (gain, noise figure, sampling rate, etc.). Style: clean RF schematic, monochrome with one accent color, white background, sans-serif labels. Suitable for IEEE Communications / Microwave figures.Use in Generator
When to use
For RF / wireless / radar papers and IEEE Communications-style signal-chain figures.
Variations
Direct-conversion (zero-IF) variant
Combine the mixer + IF filter into a single I/Q demodulator block at zero IF, with two parallel I and Q paths going into a complex-baseband ADC pair.
Tips
- Show spectra above blocks. RF audiences read by spectrum, not block names.
- Annotate gain and noise figure per block. Without them the figure is decorative.
- Use one accent color across all spectra so the visual rhythm is consistent.
FAQ
Can I add a noise budget?
Add a small table at the bottom listing each block's noise figure and gain, plus the cascaded noise figure (Friis formula).
